Second day: Meet and greet with Tel Aviv!

Good morning Tel Aviv!

After our good night sleep, we decided to go to the Carmel Market and buy some fruit for breakfast. Since our apartment is close to the beach, we absolutely wanted to feel the Mediterranean sea and sand before exploring the city.

As we were walking down the beach, we saw a lot of skyscrapers and all kinds of buildings built in different architecture. We were told that walking around in Tel Aviv would be the same as walking around in Ghent, Brussels etc. but the city is not what we expected. It has a special vibe and atmosphere but it’s not as modern as we thought. The difference in architecture is very big which we consider as chaotic and a bit confusing. J

After a long walk, we were happy to arrive at the Carmel Market, except the fact that we got lost and that we already walked by the Market without even noticing. We decided to have lunch first because we were hungry as a wolf. The salads were made of all kinds of vegetables, nuts, feta etc. Definitely one of the best salads we’ve ever had! Our batteries were recharged and we were ready to continue our trip to the Carmel Market. The colours of the fruit, vegetables, bracelets etc. were really impressive.

Around 6pm we started our journey to Jaffa, the old city nearby Tel Aviv. You can reach Jaffa by walking along the shore. The skyline of Tel Aviv by night was amazing! Jaffa is an old city where artists live. All of a sudden we came across this cosy, little court/terrace with a small restaurant specialised in quiches served with salads. When our stomachs where stuffed we walked back to the apartment. Tel Aviv by night was totally different than by day. A lot of people were jogging, others were sitting on the beach with their waterpipes and a bottle of wine etc. Exhausted but satisfied, we returned to the apartment.

We came, we saw and we conquered Tel Aviv! Enjoy the pictures!
