This morning we woke very early up, it was 6 o’clock. The day before we went to bed late, we were invited to drink tea in the house of the aunt of Manar. We also played a game, called ‘Taki’. It’s similar like the game ‘Uno’ in Belgium. Lien, won all the time. Nobody wanted to give up, so it became late.
We left the house at 6u40 by car, after ten minutes we arrived at ‘Golani’ where we met Mr. Tagha. After ten minutes he arrived with Mieke, Laura and Ashton. There were only 4 places, but we were with five. We sat close to each other and we drove about 1 hour to the high school in the village ‘Kafar Qatar’.
When we arrived, we had a meeting with the principal of the school. We talked about our lives, our experiences and the principal told us about the history of the school. He talked in Arabic, because his English wasn’t that good. Mr. Tagha translated everything for us.
After that, we met the students. We excepted students between 19 and 22 years old, but we were surprised. The students were 14, 15, 16 years old.
In the bus, Dr. Tagha putted us between the students, we had a talk during the ride to the Weizzman Institute about our country, who we are and what we are doing in Israel. For us, at first, it was a strange moment because we were dropped in a group of 15 years old giggling students.
We drove 2 hours to Tel Aviv and talked a lot with the students. It was very interesting! When we arrived in Tel Aviv, by the Weizzman institute, we had breakfast (again). We went inside and we met the guide of the park. Everything looked interesting, but the guide was talking in Hebrew. It was all about physics, so we didn’t understand anything. When we asked a girl to explain in English, she told us that she hardly understood Hebrew. So we asked the guide afterwards. There were also information boards in English. So these boards helped us to understand a little bit of what we saw. After the guide tour, we went to a place where you can find a lot of solar mirrors. We had an explanation about how they get energy from these mirrors. After that we had a lunch in the cafeteria of the university.
We went back home and in the car of Mr. Tagha we had a long conversation about the differences in our cultures and school systems.
When we were back home, our family gave us a delicious meal. Lien didn’t feel so well, so she went to sleep. Naïki worked at here PR4 and after that, we drank thee, talked with the family and after a long conversation we all went to bed.
Greetings Lien and Naïki
